2. What is KidsMash?
KidsMash at http://kidsmash.com is an children's
internet search engine, essentially a mix between
Google & Pinterest for kids.
Anyone can submit content, content is checked
by our team to ensure it's safe and kids vote the
content up and down.
3. Who uses KidsMash?
Australian children aged 6 to 12 (primary school
age) who use the internet but would like a more
engaging experience online (i.e. content might be
safe for kids but is it of interest to kids?).
Parents and Teachers who would like a safe
online environment for children in their care.
Publishers, Organisations, Bloggers, Government
Departments and Companies who would like to
promote their brand by distributing their content to
our audience.
4. How does it work?
KidsMash is making the internet a safer and more engaging place for children.
We do this by being provided with content from publishers (anyone can be a
publisher), then content is checked by our moderators to ensure it is kids safe,
finally content is voted up or down by our audience of kids.
As a result, when kids visit KidsMash.com they are provided with relevant
engaging age appropriate content.
5. How much does it cost?
Our service is provided free for children (users).
Furthermore, it's free for publishers to upload content to our platform, the
value for publishers in providing content is that with every new post they
promote their brands but also get a hyperlink to their website, thereby driving
traffic back to the publisher's website and improving their search engine
optimization.
Ideally, just as entities have a Facebook page or Twitter feed, they could now
have a KidsMash page to distribute their kids focused content and message.
6. Our progress so far...
After receiving seed funding (family
and friends funding) in January
2014, we have:
✔ Developed KidsMash.com (website
platform);
✔ Grown content from 0 to 6000
blocks of kids content;
✔ Reached 1 million page views;
✔ Small but growing number of
publishers.
This is all before officially launching
our service!
