1. I got to know abt ruby, since 2004, from the book
http://www.manning.com/herrington/ ... my company built
code-generators to generate PHP code using ruby. But it is
rails that opens up the black magic side of ruby to me.
2. My company uses both PHP & ruby (& not to forget
javascript), but my job evolved round ruby & rails.

3. People using ruby/rails are generally very open & embrace new
stuff
easily, if something is good, even if it is very new, people would
embrace it & help it to improve. The community is passionate with
its craft & constantly sought better ways to get things done,
eg. rspec
stories replaced by cucumber, etc.
5. Frankly i don't think i know the situation in china well, maybe not
enough community contribution ?
