Crassus dies in battle VS. Senate wants Pompey to become the new ruler of Rome and Caesar is to give up his command of the army and return to Rome!!
Main Idea # 2 Caesar is not pleased! Here is the integral question….. Start a war in your own country possibly killing many or come back to Rome where you are sure to be killed?? What would you do?
Main Idea # 2 Casear Marches into Rome  with his army of very loyal men! Pompey tries to stop Caesar but is forced from Rome and is destroyed in Greece by the Roman with the help of the Egyptians The end of the Triumvirate & Caesar controls all now!

Reformer or Dictator For this section – make the space below into a “T” chart Reformer Dictator Treated many of his enemies generously Increased the number of Senators to add to his number of supporters Use pages 281, 284-285
Main Idea # 3  Reformer Won the support of his soldiers through his leadership Treated his enemies generously (Brutus) Ended corruption in the government Restored cities that had been destroyed by the Republic – improved all public works (roads, marshes,buildings) Gladiator games he paid for  Dictator Became an enemy when he refused to follow the Senate’s order to return to Rome Started a civil war which destroyed the Republic Increased the number of Senators by adding supporters for him
