8. Way forward
Ensure Proper participation of women and parents in SMC meetings and
effectiveness of SMCs
Effort needs to be made for disclosing the school budget & expenditure publicly
(which is mandatory as per the RTI provision) and independently monitored
How to develop strategy for engaging SMC federation formed at block level in
promoting quality education so that they can be able to establish their credibility at all
levels
How to develop a Support mechanism for SMCs in developing school development
plan & monitoring, and ensure sustainability
Engaging PRIs to promote quality education at the village level
How we ensure that PRI & SMC come together after certain point of time to run LEP
class through local volunteers
Synergy between SMCs / community members and elected representatives
Developing a volunteer base for sustainability of the work
Strategy needs to be developed for Periodic monitoring of mid-day meal scheme and
quality education by Volunteers and SMC.
9. Strategies to create a larger impact
Enhance Community Participation by activating the
SMCs
Using the existing SATCom systems across the Govt
schools to deliver interactive teaching sessions on
specialized topics / subjects
Using multimedia based training to enhance the
learning effectiveness for the primary and higher
education
Reaching out to the Community members in the areas
not having access to education through Special
Training Programs (STP)
Facilitating temporary Hostels for the children of
Migrant community members
