• Next draft is coming… maybe March 2013
– NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rulemaking)
– 90 day comment period
– Published no sooner than Dec 2013

• DoJ looking into ADA and accessibility guidelines to
follow for websites and applications
– Both public sector and private organizations continue to be
sued for inaccessibility under the ADA
– Look at the WCAG 2.0 A and AA requirements

- 6. AODA
• Government of Ontario all websites are required to
comply by January 1, 2016
• Other organizations must conform to WCAG A for
new sites by January 1, 2014 and all sites to WCAG
AA by January 1, 2021

• No binding regulations at this time
• Mandate M 376 directs CEN, CENELEC and ETSI to
develop a unified set of requirements for public
procurement of accessible ICT (Information and
Communication Technologies)
• February 28, 2014 goal

• Focus is also on compatibility with AT not just
