Cracks in Time
The Time Field was a field of time energy that spilled from mysterious cracks in the
fabric of time and space. They were caused by the TARDIS exploding on 26 June 2010,
after coming under the control of an unknown entity whose voice was heard
repeating the line, "Silence will fall".
The cracks in time reference to 26/06/10, the day of Amy and Rory’s wedding.
The cracks caused the doctor’s TARDIS to crash on that date, with River inside.
“Silence will fall” refers to future events, referenced throughout Series 5.
