2. COMPUTER HARDWARE
Definition
Hardware is the physical and tangible part of the computer system.
Generally speaking which can be touch and feel that is called hardware.it
includes CPU, motherboard, printers, monitors etc. Although the design
of hardware differs between desktop PCs and laptops due to their
differences in size, the same components will be found in both. Without
hardware, there would be no way of running the essential software that makes computers so useful.
Types of hardware
A computer hardware can be classified into two main parts:
1: Internal computer hardware.
2: External computer hardware.
Internal computer hardware
Internal hardware is device that is installed within the computer, so it is a part of a
computer. The internal devices are as follows:
Motherboard.
CD ROM drive
RAM
CPU (central processing unit)
Power supply unit
Heat sink and fan
Solid state drive
Graphic cards
CD
Power cables
Network card
.
3. External computer hardware
External hardware that is installed outside the computer, it is connect to the back of the
computer and its outside the case. external hardware devices are usually called peripheral The
external devices are
Monitor
Keyboard
Mouse
Printer and scanner
USB
Flash drive
Projector
Joystick
Headphones
Explanation
Hardware is the soul of the computer. The concept of hardware resource’s is the set of
physical and the material components used in information processing. Specifically, it includes not
only machine such as computers and other equipment that compounded or added to any electronic
devices such as computers smartphones, eBooks, wearables, televisions, music players etc.
4. peripheral devices
Peripheral device, also known as peripheral, computer peripheral, input-output
device, or input/output device, any of various devices (including sensors) used to enter information
and instructions into a computer for storage or processing and to deliver the processed data to a
human operator or, in some cases, a machine controlled by the computer. Such devices make up
the peripheral equipment of modern digital computer systems. Peripheral devices can be divided
into three parts:
Input device
Output device
Storage device
Input devices
In computing, an input device is a peripheral (piece of computer hardware equipment)
used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system such as a computer
or other information appliance. Examples of input devices include keyboards, mice, scanners,
digital cameras and joysticks.
External devices
An output device is any peripheral that receives data from a computer, usually for display,
projection, or physical reproduction. For example, the image shows an inkjet printer, an output
device that can make a hard copy of anything shown on the monitor. Monitors and printers are two
of the most commonly used output devices used with a computer.
Storage devices
There are two types of storage devices used with computers: a primary storage device, such
as RAM, and a secondary storage device, such as a hard drive. Secondary storage can
be removable, internal, or external.
