Video Features
You’re probably familiar with Instagram Video posts – they’re like
regular photo posts, except they allow for video up to 60 seconds
long. You can add and tag your location before you share the post.
Video posts generate more user engagement than photos on
Instagram.
Live Video
Live Video is different than Instagram Video because well, it’s live. Here’s how it works:
•Followers get a push notification telling them you’re going live
•Followers can comment on or like your Live Video stream in real time
•The video is gone after you end it (it doesn’t save to your account)
Stories Features
One of the biggest additions to Instagram
as of late is the Stories feature. Stories is
similar to Snapchat in that users add clips
of video to a story which is viewable for 24
hours before it vanishes.
Push Notifications for Your Favorite
Accounts
As a business, you might not consider receiving
notifications from accounts that you follow to be a priority.
But, you absolutely want your followers to add
notifications from you.
This somewhat hidden feature is available on the mobile
app. To turn on notifications:
Go to the profile you want notifications from > click the
three dots (hotdog icon) and select > “Turn on Post
Notifications.”
Your Favorite Filters
as a business, you’re going to want your content to
be consistent in terms of brand image and style.
If you have more than one person managing your
Instagram, it can be tough to keep your look and
feel consistent. Instagram allows you to manage
your favorite filters by selecting the gear icon at the
end of the filter list.
Have a branding manager select the filters that your
company will use. just go with what you feel best
suits your company’s identity.
Manage Multiple Instagram Accounts
In early 2016, Instagram rolled out a feature allowing users to
switch between different accounts from within the application. This
made managing multiple Instagram accounts much more
efficient for marketers and businesses
Activity Status Tracker
On June 23, 2018, Insta users
noticed a green dot indicating that
their contacts were active in the app.
You can see the activity status from
both the direct message page. If you
don’t want users to see whether or
not you’re active, turn off “Show
Activity Status” in your Instagram
settings.

What is IGTV?
Just like how Instagram Stories is a competitor to Snapchat,
think of IGTV as a competitor to YouTube. Instagram has said
that by 2021, mobile video will account for 78% of total mobile
data traffic, and Instagram is betting that mobile video is going to
get even bigger with the launch of IGTV.
IGTV is a standalone vertical video application owned by Instagram made primarily
for smartphones.[2] Unlike Instagram, it allows users to upload vertical videos up to
10 minutes in length or up to 60 minutes if you are verified or popular. Despite it
being a standalone app, basic functionality is also available within the Instagram
app and website
• you would first need to create your IGTV channel, which you can do
so through the IGTV app. That would take you less than a minute and
then you can start uploading your videos.
• Just like on YouTube, you wanna make sure that your videos have an
appropriate title and description so that people can find your video
on IGTV.
• You can also add links in your descriptions which will allow your
viewers to click on any call to action and be taken to your website or a
landing page.
How to get started on IGTV
What is it?
A Name Tag = a special image (like a QR code) that people can scan – in
person – to instantly go to your Instagram page and follow you.
Color
You can change the background
color. Just tap anywhere on the
background and the color will
change.
Emojis
To change the emojis in the background,
tap anywhere on the background and the
emoji selection screen will appear
Selfie
Fun trick: You can change the sticker that comes on
your selfie. There are different stickers you can
choose from:
•Sunglasses (default)
•Heart eyes
•Glasses
•Mustache
•Unicorn
Fact: After you take a selfie with a sticker, this selfie
will cover the whole background of your Name Tag.
It’s super fun!
Option 2:
•Open your Insta Story screen (as if you
wanted to take a photo for your Insta Story)
•Point your camera to the Name Tag
•Press on your screen and hold your finger
on your screen
How to share your Instagram Name Tag

• Open your Name Tag screen
• Press on the “Share” icon (top right corner of
your screen)
• Save your Name Tag to your camera roll (cool if
you want to send it to people when you are on
the go, or if you want to make some flyers with
your Name Tag )
