Reflection About My Past Experience
1.INTRODUCTION
During high school, many teenagers come across different struggles which some can lead to a loss
of identity, confusion and change of character and personality. As individuals, we grow up and
come against different obstacles which have a huge influence on us and who we grow up to be.
Adolescent stage is a period of storm and distress which Louw and Louw (2014) define as the period
through which a transition from childhood to adulthood takes place, it can also be seen as a bride
for development. We develop different characteristics in each and every objection we come across.
In this assignment, I'll be focusing on my reflection about my past experience in a deeper and richer
dimension whilst using certain aspects which will help me make a richer meaning of my experience.
2.THE REFLECTION
During my high school days I was just a young teenager living a happy life with little problems
which only occurred due to my rebellious behaviour even after everything that I witnessed during

happened and focus on building myself into a person who will be able to take care of my niece

Introduction
The purpose of this project is to prevent falls among elderly patients which is an issue of concern
for the nurses in the Unit. A proposed solution is the implementation of bed alarm. As nurses seek
to keep patients safer, a critical analysis of the literature on bed alarms is developed to introduce the
proposal in the unit. Pre and posttest questionnaires were conducted to evaluate the nursing learning
needs. Strong evidence to support the use of bed alarms as an early warning system was discussed

The recommended implementation of the fall prevention program in an organization includes
admitting older patients at risk for falls. Such a program requires time, money, collaboration effort
from the staff, and administrative support. Fall risk is a growing patient issue in the unit therefore
the proposal solution is needed to prevent fall. It is a comprehensive approach to improve the health
condition of the elderly in the unit.
The Target Population or Audience
Taking into account that patient falls continues to be reported, according to the definition provided
by nurses in the unit, the scale is high for patient's falls. Fall is a significant threat for the safety of
the male elderly in the unit. So prevention becomes a main concern. The majority of patient falls
occur near their beds in a unit. Elderly patients with recurrent falls have to increase their length of
stay in the hospital. Studies done in the United States and other countries demonstrate that
twenty–eight to thirty–nine percent of elderly from ages sixty–five and older experience fall at least
once a year Day et al, (2001). A fall may lead to a poor quality of life for older patients because

Vaccinating Unvaccinated Children
Because these children cannot fight off diseases themselves they count on the rest of the population
to receive their immunizations to lessen the risk of receiving them. Many states offer exemptions to
vaccinations. Many are health related, but some states allow parents to opt out of vaccinating their

Effectiveness of Goldman's The Refutation of Medical Paternalism In his essay, The Refutation of
Medical Paternalism, Alan Goldman states his argument against a strong doctor–patient role
differentiation, in which the doctor may act against a patients' immediate will in order to carry
treatment in the patients' best interest. Goldman frames his entire argument around the single
assumption that a person's freedom to decide his future is the most important and fundamental right
as he claims "the autonomous individual is the source of those other goods he enjoys, and so is
not to be sacrificed for the sake of them."[1] He claims that the majority of people would agree that

To argue the first premise, he appeals to common knowledge that doctors hold their occupations
because they are more knowledgeable in a medical context on the options for improving health and
longevity. With this in mind, he then establishes that individuals who consult physicians do so in
order to prolong their life and improve their well–being. By establishing these foundational premises
for paternalism in a medical context, Goldman can now argue that given a patient that is determined
to be acting out of line with his true values and his actions might result in harm that is severe,
certain, and irreversible, it is the physician's professional to override the patients' immediate rights in
order to preserve that patients' more long–term desires. But how can the physician determine whether
the patient is acting in line with his true values in the case of withholding medical information from

Examples Of Academic Reflection
During the whole process of designing the IMC plan for HP Sprocket in this semester, I have
earned valuable experience about teamwork, and I have learned lessons not only from class, but
also from the whole working process. First of all, I have to admit that this group is one of the best
groups I've ever had, I used to think that only failed experience helps people learn and grow.
However, this time in a well–organised group, I found that I was wrong, positive experience
contributes as well. This essay will reflect what I have learned, and it will be mainly divided into
two parts: academic reflection and experiential reflection.
Academic Reflection
In an IMC plan, separate segment needs to cooperate with each other through organisational
communications in order to ensure that audiences can receive a same key message from different
channels (Ots and Nyilasy 2015, 134–135). Personally, I feel it is perfectly understandable as a
first–time IMC practitioner. In this group work, because we do not have much time to discuss the
"Big Idea" at the very beginning, we decided to divide the work first and then combine them
together to find out the "Big Idea". However, I found that I cannot come up with useful strategies
without effectively communicating with my teammates about our goal for this plan. After we have
finished our first draft and uploaded it to Google Drive, we all agreed that this is a weak plan,
because the messages we try to deliver in each piece do not have much in common.
As Percy (2013, 2–3) pointed out, both the key and the goal of IMC planning are "to deliver a
consistent message". This made me think we might be wrong at the aiming stage. In this scenario,
assigning work without figuring out the requirement of an IMC plan is the problem of our group,
and I need to learn that figuring out the main requirements and setting a clear goal are essential
steps for innovative projects like an IMC plan. Because they can improve both individual's task
performance and group's working efficiency (Hoegl and Parboteeah 2003, 4). There may have
certain groups that can perform well without cooperating tightly, like a calculation group, but IMC

"Skepticism about a Refutation of Skepticism"
In "The Refutation of Skepticism", Jonathan Vogel establishes an "Inference to the Best Explanation"
(hereafter, "IBE") as a means to refute skepticism about the external world. In this refutation, Vogel
acknowledges that skepticism about IBE still remains a possibility, but that this kind of skepticism
would be rather outlandish in character and thus could be ignored. This paper shall both establish
and evaluate Vogel's reasoning as to why he confidently dismisses any skepticism pertaining to his
IBE, and furthermore will illuminate some points as to why Vogel may have mischaracterized

So how is this supposed to serve as a successful refutation of skepticism? To make sense of this, it
should first be understood exactly how IBE qualifies its requirement for simplicity, and also what
Vogel understands both mundane propositions and skeptical arguments to be comprised of. The
assumption that the world works in ways that are simple, implied from the principle of induction, is
construed by Vogel to mean that the better explanation would be thebelief involving the fewest
complexities and least number of parts to argue. Vogel is under the impression that skeptical
arguments involve much more complexity in order to make them parallel the ordinary beliefs they
aim to compete with, and cites the example that for ordinary properties such as shape and location
that could be involved in a mundane proposition, the skeptic would have to invoke a much more
elaborate explanation for why we are experiencing pseudo–shapes and pseudo–locations. This leaves
the skeptical argument at a major disadvantage when assessed by IBE's requirement for simplicity,
allowing for the mundane proposition to be deemed the better explanation because of its capability
to explain things "as they are" instead of "why they appear to be as they are but really are

Assessment Reflection Essay examples
As I reflect on my past assessment process, I realized how much my assessments have changed
over the years. In my early years, I used tests for informational recall as my assessments. I felt
these were appropriate guidelines in which I needed to follow in order to substantiate a student's
grade. Every assignment or tests was given a point value and then based on the amount of points, a

Part of my assessment philosophy is to assess students on a daily basis which also includes their
reaction to my class. Students come to school with so much baggage that if you only chose one day
a week, or four or five times a marking period to assess them, chances are, they may be having a bad
day. Therefore, these students may not demonstrate their true ability if given only a few attempts
during the marking period. Assessment needs to be a continuous process throughout the marking
period. Everyday my students are given an opportunity to demonstrate their learning whether it is an
observation, a quick answer or a one–on–one discussion or a group project. My assessments are
consistent, flexible and achievable. I adhere to the deadlines that I give my students as part of my
assessment process. I want to infuse in my students that the world has deadlines, and you must be
prepared to meet them.
Assessment for many students means failure instead of demonstrating what you know. Too many
students walk away from a test, a science lab, or any other learning experience and feel as if they
have failed. Students should walk away from these experiences with a feeling of curiosity. If
assessments are correctly used, students would want to experiment more and take additional risks

Colson however disagrees with this, Colson states in "Societal Suicide" that marriage is the
traditional building block of human society, intended both to unite couples and bring children
into the world. He goes on to say, "Tragically, the sexual revolution led to the decoupling of

Sandberg's first main point of morphological freedom is how it applies to society and freedom.

People who are living with disabilities do not see themselves as disabled, "There clearly exist many

Reflections on a Graduate Program
Reflections Upon a Graduate Program Upon completing a stage in life, such as the completion of
a graduate program, it is productive to reflect upon that experience and ponder the motivation for
that course of action, as well as ponder the utility of that experience. As my graduate program

In the eight weeks of my English151B class, I have improved my writing skills to write a
well–organized and focused essay by avoiding run–ons, fragments, using proper verb tenses, and

Example Of Reflection In Literature
In the span of this course, I have learned a great deal about myself in terms of literature. This
course has enabled me to make many great strides in my writing by exemplifying the works of
authors and their literary devices. English 1102 has broadened my literary horizon by showing me

There are three types of proof for the existance of God:
The Ontological Proof:
God is the most perfect conceivable being. Existence is moreperfect than non–existence. God by

As soon as a person has admitted that he/she has a concept of "God", by this argument, then that
person has also admitted God's existence (in the same way that admitting you have the concept of
a triangle is, is to admit that a triangle has three angles). Like most of Kant's topics of discussion,
it is difficult to fully grasp the entirety of what is being said. However, unlike most other cases, this
time I don't think it's entirely his fault. In fact, his refutation to this deceivingly simple argument is
(perhaps deceivingly) actually quite simple. Existence cannot be a predicate. In the sentence
"Thomas is the teacher", the word "is" is not the predicate, but it is the word that implies existence.
Therefore, the sentence "God is" does not contain a predicate. A predicate is a word that ads a
quality to the concept of the thing it is applied to –– existence is not a quality. The cosmological
argument, according to Kant, "is too well known for it to be necessary to expound it in detail here"
(P570), so if you don't know it, you can join me in feeling like an idiot… However, he then

Speech Reflection Essay
During speech class this semester, I gave several different types of speeches on several different
topics. During this semester, my ability to give speeches in front of an audience has improved quite
a bit, I hope. Going into the semester, I had a really hard time giving speeches to people, but now that
speech is almost over I feel like I am more capable of doing so. I think the thing I did best during
the semester was getting good information for each of my speeches. My favorite assignment was
most likely the impromptu speech. I really liked that one because we did not have to prepare an
outline or anything like that, we just got to go up there and speak. During this semester, I learned
a lot about how to give speeches such as the proper way to stand so I do not rock, or how to use
my hands to emphasize my points. In the future, I think that I will be able to control my speed better
during my speeches which will help the people I am presenting to understand my message. I
think the skills I have acquired during speech will help me for the rest of my life. No matter what
career I choose, I am sure that at some point I will have to present to someone about something.
The skills I learned in speech will also help me just communicate with people in a one on one
situation easier than I do now. I can use these skills throughout the rest of high school and through
my six years of college still to come because whenever I have to present a project I will know how to
effectively communicate my message to my audience.
Based off of all of my reflection sheets, video evaluations, and peer critiques I have improved over
the course of the semester. At the beginning of the semester I had a problem with speed and using
to many "filler" words. As the year progressed, my speed became more and more controllable and
I used less and less filler words. After my most recent speech, I'm still not quite at the level I want
to be at, but I am far better than I was at the very beginning. I think just speaking in front of people
more than I am used to doing has helped me develop better speaking skills and grow in my ability to
