Central Pallor Methylamphetamine raises blood pressure and increases pulse rate. This in turn, constricts the blood vessels at the skin's surface and leads to pale and gaunt complexion.

8. High Intensity Abuse Indicators Scars/Open Sores on Exposed Skin * The scars indicate that the abuser has experienced formication or "crank bugs." Formication is an advanced form of Methylamphetamine-induced hallucination during which the abuser feels bugs on/under his skin. The individual scratches at the "bugs," trying to remove them, but instead the abuser gouges the skin, leaving scars. Open sores indicate recent Methylamphetamine use.
