How did you attract/address your audience? Presented by Leon Thomas 12 AEH
The Mis-en-Scene The mis-en-scene helped our group greatly in terms of reaching our target audience of 15+: The film was located in and around Graveney School, so in that sense, it was very easy for our audience to identify what age our film was trying to address and attract respectively. The costumes worn by both Horatio and Mia typifies that of young people. This too, means that it is easier to address the audience. They both have a distinct difference in taste when it comes clothes as well as in personalities, yet our film still attracts the audience.
(continued) The storyline was yet another example of how we attracted and addressed the audience. Our plot was based upon a teenage nerd who has a crush on a popular, articulate and attractive female companion in sixth form college. So in that way we raised audience awareness because this does happen everyday in Britain. In addition to this, he is unable, or finds it awkward to inform her about his appreciation for her because of his psychological problem- ‘psycho-neurosis’.
Audience Feedback To attract and address our audience, we asked four students between the ages of 16 and 17 to share with us their thoughts on which ending of the film was more efficient, as we had a dilemma on which ending was the best. Another method of attracting and addressing our audience was when we uploaded our film onto YouTube, and gathered comments, obviously regarding our film, most of the comments came from our actual target audience, though we did ask them to insert their own opinions on the film (both the audience feedback video and our rough cut of the film, in which people commented on, are shown above this slideshow)
