Team in an Online Environment
Virtual Team Characteristics
Team members joined from diverse backgrounds
to achieve common goals.
Members are geographically separated by time
and/or space, but are mutually accountable for
team results.
The team solves problems and makes decisions
jointly.
Usually, you never meet your virtual teammates
in person, and so e-mail, discussion boards, and
chats become very important.
5 Characteristics of Quality Groups
1. Members exchange ideas constructively
   via e-mail, discussion boards, chats, and
   blogs
2. Cyber atmosphere is comfortable
3. Objectives are clear and understood
4. Most decisions are reached by consensus
5. Individual group members do not dominate
   the discussion board.
