As a front-line child welfare worker in progressively responsible positions for five years, I gained a passion for evidenced-based policy and programming, which drew me to pursue a PhD of Public Policy. My dissertation, entitled The Foster Parent Bill of Rights: An Investigation of its Perceived Effectiveness in Arkansas, involved an analysis of state level foster parent retention policies.
Currently, I serve as Assistant Professor of Social Work and Director of Field Education at Juniata College.
