Imperial College London reported on Jan. 12, 2015 that eLearning is as good as traditional training
for health care professionals.
According to research electronic learning could offer opportunities for millions more students to
train as doctors and nurses across the world. A review which has been commissioned by the World
Health Organisation (WHO) and which has been carried out by Imperial College London researchers
has concluded that eLearning is likely to be as effective as traditional methods of learning for the
training health care professionals.
Already some universities are using electronic media and devices in education in order to support

of eLearning may help to address the need to train more health workers across the world. The world
is short of about 7.2 million healthcare professionals and this figure is getting bigger according to a
recent WHO report.
The World Health Organization reports in Transformative Education for Health Professionals that
the link between education and health systems is very close because the former provides a vital
resource for health professionals. There is a general consensus that in most countries there are
insufficient health care providers and many of them are deficient in terms of the quality and
