3.3 SYSTEMS OF INEQUALITIES
SYSTEMS OF INEQUALITIES
 A system of equations consists of two or more
  equations
 A system of inequalities consists of two or more
  inequalities

 The solution of an inequality (from chapter 2) is the
  shaded region of the coordinate plane
 The solution of a system of inequalities is the region
  of the graph that is shaded by BOTH individual
  inequalities
SOLVING A SYSTEM OF INEQUALITIES
   Graphing is usually the most appropriate method
        The solution is the set of all points that are solutions of
         both inequality in the system

    1.    Graph the first inequality
    2.    Graph the second inequality
    3.    The solution is the overlap of the two half-plane
          solutions from steps 1 & 2
    4.    To check, use a test point
