Data and Creativity: The Perfect Marriage

  1. Muy buenas tardes a todos, mi nombre es Rafael Lebron, soy Estratega Digital para J. Walter Thompson y hoy les vengo a hablar sobre data y como puede ser utilizada de manera creativa o para la creatividad.
  2. Eso que acaban de ver son las palabras de Philip Thomas, CEO de Cannes Lions, el festival de premiación más importante para la publicidad, sobre como la data se a convertido en algo tam importante para la creatividad, tan es así que Cannes, desde el año pasado, decidió crear una nueva categoría de permios llamada Creative Data, para evaluar y premiar todo aquel trabajo publicitario donde se haya utilizado la data como base para la creación de un concepto creativo y/o publicidad.
  3. Ahora bien. Muchos sabran o tendrán una idea de lo que es DATA y que tan complejo puede ser pero su definición real es simple… Son hechos o estadisticas que se colectan y reunen para referencia o análisis.
  4. Otros abrán escuchado el término BIG DATA y problamenteme esta es su reacción cuando empiezan a conocer un poco más sobre este tema.
  5. Pero la reailidad es que si ponemos ambos términos, uno al lado del otro, se vería algo así…. Obviamente sin entrar en tecnisismos Big data es data en abundancia.
  6. La data siempre ha existido y siempre ha sido parte de muchas compañias.
  7. Pero en esto tiempo con la llegada se las redes sociales y la facilidad con la que los usuarios comparten su información, grandes compañias como las que ven aquí comenzaron acuestionarse “Que pasaría si..” Valor a la data para personalización, selección de programación, sugerencias pero sobre todo, publicidad.
  8. Y vieron una gran oportunidad de monetizar toda la data que estaban obteniendo se sus usuarios, ya sea para personalizar la publicidad y hacerla más puntual, cosa que tiende a ser más compleja en el mundo tradicional, ó para ofrecer servicios que vayan acorde a la necesidad del consumidor.
  9. Pongamos de ejemplo a Facebook, una compañía con 1.59 billones de usuarios, donde podemos decir que su fuerte o la base de la compañía es data, aún así no haya sido creada con esa intensión.
  10. Esto, según ellos es la data/información que obtiene de cada perfil. Cosas que haces e información que provees Cosas que otro hacen y la información que ellos proveen Tu network o conecciones Información sobre pagos Información de websites y apps que usas Información sobre terceros Y por último información de ustedes de otras compañías de Facebook, como Whatsapp, Messenger, Instagrams, Grupos y más reciente Oculus VR
  11. Osea que si tenemos que si tenemos que resumir todo eso en una palabra sería TODO!
  12. Inclusive, por dar un ejemplo bien puntual, no se si todos ya han visto la nueva forma de reaccionar a los post de sus amistades, llamado Facebook Reactions Esto no e otra cosa que DATA, DATA y más DATA.
  13. Pero muchos estarán diciendo, Wow que mucho saben de mí, ¿Será esto malo? Y la respuesta es simple, desde una perspectiva de mercadeo/publicidad y para lo que la mayoría de ustedes estan aquí, NO. Esta data le permite a ustedes segmentar la forma en la que le llevan su publicidad a la audiencia. Pueden segmentar desde La Localización Edad Genero Conecciones Lenguajes Hasta un categoría bien interesante que permite ser aún más específico basandose en el comportamiento del usuario.
  14. Así que si alguno de ustedes en algun momento añade dentro de sus eventos en la vida, que esta esperando un hijo, no se asuste si alguno de nosotros los publicista le presentamos un anuncio de Pañales o si de momento toda la publicidad va en torno a niños
  15. O en el caso de un fanático del deporte del ciclismo empieza a ver modelos de bicicletas en especial.
  16. Y para que la data no muera jamás, en Febrero 2015 Facebook, añadió una nueva funcionalidad que le permite a ustedes designar a alguien para que pueda manejar su perfil el día que usted deje de existir.
  17. Otra compañía que permite el uso de la data para ser creativos lo es Google. Ellos colectan la siguiente data de ustedes: Cosas que haces: Entre ellas Cosas que buscas Sites que visitas Videos que ves Cosas que te hacen ser tu: Nombre Email Fecha de nacimiento Y cosas que creas como: Los emails que envias Contactos que añades Fotos Etc Pero toda esta data tiene un significado y sin ella la publicidad sería monotona y sin sentido.
  18. Por hablarle de algún uso puntual, todos aquellos de ustedes que utiliza plataformas de medición como Google Analytics, en algún momento dado se han preguntado, ¿De donde Google saca la data para decirme la edad de las personas que visitan mi sitio web y hasta el genero? Pues ya tienen la respuesta….
  19. Esto son solo algunas de las compañias que proveen data y algunos ejemplos de cómo usarla, Mientras más data tengas de tu audiencia, más puedes conocer sus intereses. Y una vez llegas a saber que quiere o necesita tu audiencia, tienes la formula perfecta para lograr tu objetivo.
  20. Pero no olvidemos que las personas no quieres experimentar data, ellos quieren experimentar buenas historias.
  21. La data es una fuente de información que les permite a ustedes ser creativos.
  22. Y podemos decir que la data es un conseguencia de algo y la idea es el principio de esa consecuencia.
  23. Pero la pregunta sería, ¿que viene primero, la data para de ahí sacar la idea o la idea que como consecuencia resulta en data?
  24. Jummmm Buena pregunta no, le dejo a ustedes para que lleguen a su propia conclusión.
  25. La data puede ser usada como información para producir una idea pero tambien puede ser utilizada para ser creativos con ella.
  26. Para darles un ejemplo el 94% de los Pre-Rolled ads de Youtube le dan Skip luego de los primeros 5 segundos. ¿cómo podemos ser creativos para llevar un mensaje sabiendo este dato?
  27. ¿cuántos ya habían visto este anuncio? ¿Bueno no? Ahí es cuando uno dice, coño como no se me ocurrió antes…
  28. El 41% porciento de la Clase C en Brazil es dueño de un Smartphone en comparación al año 2011 donde solo era un 5%. Esta compañia vio la oportunidad en este dato para se creativo..
  29. En Estados Unidos el 53% de las personas que tiene un Smartphone, están en las redes sociales mientras ven TV. Es por esto que los eventos importantes en la TV cmo lo son los Grammy’s, es una excelente oportunidad para ser creativos.
  30. Genial la idea
  31. La Data, no solo la información, tambien puede ser usada para ser creativos, este es el caso de una línea aérea en Londres llamada British Airways.

  33. La data se puede usar para todo propósito, no solo publicidad, y la creatividad es el límite de cualquier innovación.
