SIX STEPS TO SUCCESSFUL SPEAKING Step 1: Clarify your objective. Step 2: Analyze your audience. Step 3: Collect and organize your information. Step 4: Choose your visual aids. Step 5: Prepare your notes. Step 6: Practice your delivery. Be thankful you aren’t speaking with a mouthful of stones.

  8. 8. To use proper stress, intonation, rhythm. To join each sound of a sequence to the next, and pronounce the complete sequence rapidly and without stumbling.

AIM OF TEACHING SPEAKING SKILL  To cultivate the habit of speaking with correct sounds, stress, intonation, rhythm, fluency, and pause.  To cultivate the audible and intelligible pronunciation.  To develop the habit of speaking long sentences clearly.  To develop good speech manners.  To express the idea, thoughts, facts and feelings.
  11. 11. IMITATION METHOD In this method teacher present a good model of speech and ask the student to intimate them.
  12. 12. PHONETIC METHOD This method is based on scientific principles of phonetics. Here teacher imparts knowledge of 45 vowels and consonant sounds of 26 English letters, of speech organs, and rules of producing sounds.
  13. 13. SUBSIDIARY METHOD THESE METHOD HELP IN DEVELOPING SPEAKING HABIT OF SECOND LANGUAGE THROUGH TEACHING OF ENGLISH. SUGGESTION TO IMPROVE THE SPEAKING ABILITY ☻Oral training of language material helps student in learning speaking ability. ☻Use of proper stress, sounds and pause helps in correct pronunciation. ☻Use of various audio-visual aids helps in teaching English speech. ☻English teacher should present ideal model to his pupil with clear, audible and intelligible pronunciation.
  15. 15. ☻Various activities like debates, language games, dramatization etc. provide opportunities for speaking ability. ☻Teacher should present a contrast between sounds of language . Pupil should be made aware of the difference in stress and intonation patterns of two language.
