The Southern African Bird Atlas Project 2 (SABAP2) is a partnership between the Animal Demography Unit at the University of Cape Town, BirdLife South Africa, and the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) that aims to map the distribution and abundance of bird species across southern Africa annually between July 2007 and July 2012, and in November 2013, as led by Les Underhill and Michael Brooks of the Animal Demography Unit.
