88. How should I respond to questions about my grades? First, students should inform the interviewer of the GND policy which states that grades should not be disclosed until a student accepts a full-time, post-graduation position. Additionally, students are encouraged to refer the interviewer to the online CBS Grade Non-Disclosure Policy, as well as the CBS GND Committee at GND@gsb.columbia.edu or the Career Management Center. Sample Response: Students are encouraged to answer with qualitative responses such as “Very well – I am especially enjoying this aspect of the class…” or “Better than I had initially expected” but the key is to then steer the conversation towards experiences, accomplishments or successes that answer the underlying question of whether or not you will enjoy finance work and whether or not you have the capabilities to excel in financially oriented, highly quantitative and analytical work.
