1. Since the unlikable childhood of a mere 15 year old, the time had always been in pain, disgrace
and agony to the helpless villagers of downtown London. In this time children were abandoned
on the streets, waiting to be re-united with the family they’ve always dreamed of being around.
Half-built houses either with no roofs or no doors because the person couldn’t afford to finish
the house. The beggars on the side walk pestering people as they walk by to lend them at least a
few coins to stop them from their endless days of fasting.
And the cause to all this suffering was right now sitting in the finest velvet, watching a few
clumsy jesters and drinking out of a goblet en-crusted with the most expensive emeralds in all
of London. And you might have guessed it, it was indeed the king. He who couldn’t even lift a
finger to help his fellow villagers was chosen by a group of royal dukes from the grand castle to
be the king in the first place, but right now you must be thinking “who would ever want to put
that lazy old hag in the place of a loyal king”? Well if I told you right now in a short detailed
explanation there wouldn’t be a story so I’ll take my time and tell you in a medium-long version
, and then I’ll tell you of the boy who comes and saves the villagers from their endless suffering
but that’s another story!
Long ago when the king was young and full of energy, he used to get in lots of trouble and be the
naughty one around the house. But because I will soon run out of ways to address the king let’s
just call him Bruno. Now as I was saying Bruno was a little cheek, trying to be the centre of
attention, making sure every guest that stepped into the house walked out with a clear mind of:
Bruno Bruno Bruno Bruno Bruno Bruno Bruno??? See
where I’m getting at?
Now when I say guest I should point out that Bruno’s dad was a very busy man (belonging to
the part of a council special subject part of the King’s work) working his feet of to re-pay a lot of
debts. During his child-hood his father was not around to witness most (well maybe all) of his
milestones. So that left him and his mother and things didn’t always turn out the right way in
his mother’s view. Things didn’t turn out well with anybody so he learned to do things in his
manor and his will. This lead to a lot of aggression against life and talking back to his elders.
CONCLUSION: Staying in his room and going to bed without any supper. But did he care? “No
not one bit” in fact he felt it a little quite pleasing excluding the point of not eating to be left all
alone in his room and no one there to boss him around. During this time he thought and thought
and thought some more. He thought about all the birds, bees and insects. He thought about why
the moon came out at night and stayed hidden in the day. He thought about why his father had
to work and never show his face. Oh how he thought there was no stopping him. He possibly
thought of every nook and cranny that took interest in him. And this led to a lot of questions
(trust me this turned out as the same punishment) his mum’s response: “BRUNO STOP! YOU
KNOW YOUR DAD’S BEEN WORKING FOR A REASON LET HIM WORK IN PAECE FOR ONCE!” or
“GO TO YOUR ROOM YOUNG MAN!” and that was that no further doubts. But did that stop him?
NO he just carried on doing what he did best.
2. You see during that time every one thought that education was life if you didn’t know
something you were considered dumb. That was exactly the type of philosophy Bruno’s mother
followed and because Bruno asked a lot of questions he didn’t get very much thought back. He
had a very wide imagination but he didn’t quite learn how to present it in the proper way. The
only thing he was missing in life was his parent’s love. He didn’t get any he didn’t show any
back. He was never taught how to love. It wasn’t something he needed. It was something he
wanted. During school he was the one that was left out because he didn’t quite fit in. He tried
making some friends but couldn’t get himself noticed no matter what he tried. So he accepted
that didn’t fit in and was treated like he wasn’t wanted. So he was left alone, him and his mind.
He couldn’t help but notice all the fun the others were having. All the smiles and chatter blurred
through his mind as he thought of what he was missing and what he had to offer. But that didn’t
mean he didn’t have time to think. So he carried on thinking. Now that you have a blurred vision
of how Bruno’s life wet, why don’t we go to the present? ‘But mum everyone’s going!’ ‘Bruno
you know you dad and I can’t take you.’ ‘It just won’t happen’. Come on please it’s perfectly safe’.
‘Bruno it’s not safe to just go with your friends out of London’. Part of this was true the lie was
that Bruno didn’t have any friends but his mum didn’t know that. But then again the part about
going out of London was true with people Bruno thought were his friend but actually people
who didn’t have nothing better to then get into trouble and muck around.
