• Salinity (20-30 ppt)
• pH (7.8-8.2)
• Ammonia (0 ppm)
• Nitrites (0 ppm)
• Nitrates (< 80 ppm)
• Temperature (68-74˚F)

8. How to measure
Several of the tests require 15 milliliters of
water. This needs to be measured exactly.
Here are some tips:
• Hold the test tube at eye level.
• The top of the water will be curved. This
is called the meniscus.
• The bottom of the curve should be on
the line.

9. Once you add the chemicals, compare
the results to the chart

and record the
number under it.
