Here is what an owner has to say about the Medialink Wireless N Router:
5.0 out of 5 stars Don't worry about the skeptics...., June 26, 2012
By R. Sherborne (MA, USA)
Up until now I've always purchased 'brand name' wireless routers, having owned various models
from D-link, Belkin and Linksys since 2003, none of which cost less than $100 (apart from the
Belkin, which was pretty mediocre). Every single model from these 'brand name' manufacturers
was to some degree unstable, with loss of connectivity to the router or to the internet requiring
the router to be rebooted. My last D-link model had deteriorated to the point of needing a reboot
practically every day. I'd also had a few years using a Verizon FIOS branded wireless router,
which never needed rebooting once, so once I was in the market for a new router, I was mostly
interested in stability over and above performance.
I had never heard of Mediabridge until I found the Medialink Wirless N router on Amazon. It
had by far the highest average rating, from the largest number of reviewers of any wireless
router on Amazon. On reading some of the reviews and comments, there seemed to be a
campaign by some to discredit the reviews and product, even though many didn't actually seem
to have any first hand experience with the product. There seemed to be accusations of the
manufacturer posting fake reviews to boost the average rating. Many genuine reviewers who'd
had a bad experience had seemingly been well looked after by Mediabridge's customer support,
but there were even some skeptics claiming that there was something fishy or underhand about
that. This initially steered me away from the Medialink, but after going back and studying the
Page 1 of 6
2. mixed reviews of the brand name offerings, most costing much more, I decided to take a punt on
the 'unknown' brand. I also decided to follow-up with a review depending on my experience,
something I've never done on Amazon before.
Once I received my new router I was initially very happy with the packaging and contents, and
the appearance of the router itself. Everything seemed to be just as good quality as I would
expect from the big brand names, and the router itself was actually more compact than my
impression from the photos. The good impressions continued with the installation. The included
literature was clear and informative, and I had it up and running in a few short minutes. The
router's web interface is very good, with the only small criticism being that you have to manually
enter MAC addresses when setting up DHCP binding, where as most router interfaces allow
MAC addresses to be 'copied'. Other than that, the interface is one of the clearest I've
experienced of any router.
So far so good, but as stability was my main concern I wanted to run the router for a few weeks
before writing a review. I've now been using this router for over two weeks, and so far it has
been totally stable (no reboots needed), with good speed (I'm probably limited by the wireless
device in my laptops, if anything). The range and strength of signal is as good or better than any
previous router I've used, despite being the first to have a built in antennae. More time will help
evaluate the stability side of things, but so far I'm very happy with this router's performance and
quality for the price. I would say to anyone who is possibly doubting this product based on the
numerous skeptics who're questioning the high ratings, that in my (admittedly limited)
experience, this router is as good as the high ratings suggest. And it does seem to be backed up
by accessible and attentive customer support, although I've fortunately not had any reason to
trouble them.
I'll write an update if my experience changes, but otherwise I'm very happy with this router.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite surprised with this one!, November 1, 2010
By 1.21 Gigawatts (USA)
Well, now having the need for a wireless N network I did a bit of research into which router I
should buy. After reading so many positive reviews, I kept teetering on whether or not I should
try this one out... especially since I hadn't heard of the company and the price point was so low.
Eventually I figured "what could it hurt" and ordered it. I immediately got an email from the
company thanking me for the order which included the support information if needed. That was a
nice touch.

4. The bottom line is that I'm VERY glad I ordered this. Set up was a breeze if you follow the very
simple instructions to the letter. I was up and running in minutes.
My other concern was how well it would sing with my Cisco Wireless N Bridge(The Cisco-
Linksys WET610N Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming and Video Adapter)in my living room which
is notoriously finicky with non-Cisco product integration. I'm very pleased to report that it
immediately started communicating once set up, and has been rock solid for 3 days streaming Hi
Def 720p and 1080p video. The signal strength is fantastic and has out performed other routers I
have owned in the past. Time will tell how it holds up over the long run. I will update this post if
anything goes awry.
Finally as icing on the cake, the router just looks cool. Thats always a happy bonus!
The only negative I could find is that the tech support line isn't 24 hours. Seeing as how I didn't
need it, I suppose that really isn't a negative in the truest sense.
I'm a heavy Amazon user who doesn't even write reviews yet felt compelled to for this gem. A
Great product, at a great price, and easy set up. Who could ask for more?
*** EDIT 06/14/11 Wow, there are a ton of comments on my review and I thought it would be a
good idea to chime in again. Here we are about 8 months after my purchase and the router is
still going strong. I have noticed that there was some signal degradation about 3 months in, but I
changed the broadcast channel and it cleared up. Whether that was a fix or coincidence I don't
know. As far as I can remember it only dropped once and I had to reset it. Not sure what people
are expecting, but I thought (and still think) I got fantastic bang for the buck. And to answer
some of the people implying I somehow work for the company that makes or markets it: I
absolutely do not! I just was pleasantly surprised and wanted to share.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Wireless Router, June 26, 2012
By NJMagnessUSMC
I purchased this Medialink Wireless n router because of the already high customer ratings. It
was simple to set up, has worked fine so far, was cheap, and also looks good. Overall it's about
all you could want in a wireless router. Definitely worth the price. With the set of instructions
and CD that comes with it, there's really no way to f*** this up if you have had any experience
with technology. Which you probably do if you're reading this review on Amazon. The only
worry I had coming into this purchase was that I had never heard of the brand before. The other
customer reviews convinced me to trust them and I'm glad I did.
