- Using Google Earth to find latitude and longitude.
- Latitude lines
- Now we will use Google earth to find the latitude and longitude of specific locations on the earth.
- First, locate the google earth icon on the desktop. Then, double click the Google earth icon to open google earth.
- When Google earth opens, a satellite representation of the earth will appear. In the upper right hand corner of the screen, on the Fly To tab,
- Type a location
- Once the location is typed, press enter or click the Magnifying glass button
- Google earth will bring you to the location that you have entered.
- To find the latitude and longitude of your location. Place you mouse pointer on the destination.
- The latitude and longitude will be displayed on the bottom center of the screen.
- The latitude will be displayed followed by a N or S designation while the longitude will be displayed followed by E or W designation.
