4. Bikes Empower strives to increase the quality of life of
women in brothels through a bike shop on the outskirts
of the Sonagachi district of Calcutta which will provide
bamboo bikes and bike support. The bikes will
provide the customers with a mode of sustainable
transportation that they can use to get to a job or go
to school; the bike will increase the role of women by
offering them independence and economic stability.
Within the US, a partnership will be set up with local
bike shops and the shop in India to provide
funds, supplies, and awareness. Bikes Empower’s passion
is essentially to help bring back dignity and
