Pratham Mysore is a grass root charity
promoting the cause of educating
underprivileged children in slums and narrow
lanes of the city and rural areas. Established in
2002, the NGO is committed to achieve
universalisation of primary education and
improving the educational standards in primary
schools. Driven by our mission statement “Every
child in school and learning well” and by
building effective working partnerships with the
community, statutory bodies and the private
sector.
Read India-Block Excellence Program
•Reaching out to 5000 children across 2
districts of Mysore and
Chamarajanagar
• In each block one corporate is
supporting the Education for Education
Program with infrastructure and
instructional aid to the volunteers.
Community and School Library Centres
•Building language and maths skills
through remedial packages for children
in communities and Govt. Schools
•Nearly 2500 children have free access
to books through a network of
Community and School Library Centres
across the city of Mysore.
Scholarship Program
•Scholarships for 10th Std students from
poor backgrounds who clear their 10th
with distinction.
•This Program, in partnership with
SOFTEN, a CSR Group of Infosys
Employees of Mysore has benefitted
over 150 students across 7 blocks in the
District. .
Knowledge Bridge
•This is a program for enthusiastic
volunteers from the corporate sector to
come and share the benefits of their
education with those who do not have
such privileges.
•Present in a dozen schools in Mysore.
Course in Pre School Education
•In partnership with the Karnataka State
Open University, Pratham Mysore has
started a Certificate Course in
Preschool Education in 2009.
•More than 300 women have benefitted
from this course.
Preschool
Pratham Mysore’s Balawadi handle 3-5
½ olds for 2-3 hrs every day in
sharpening child’s personal and social
skills, physical motor skills, cognitive
skills, language skills and creative skills
covering nearly 2300 children across the
narrow lanes of the Mysore city.

Jaga joined Pratham
Mysore in February
2012 and has been
associated with the
'Learn, Out of the Box'
program since then.
Apart from this
program, Jaga is
responsible for the quarterly
newsletter compilation. Jaga, in his
previous avatar, was an IT professional
working at Wipro for close to 20 years
after his MTech from IIT Kharagpur.
