How do biotic (living) and abiotic (non living) things interact in the pond ecosystem ? Plants make their home in the soil. Birds use grasses to make nests. Bacteria in the soil break down leaves. Frogs catch insects in and around the pond.

Desert Ecosystem It hardly ever rains in the desert. There are little plants and animals. Extreme temperatures. Direct sunlight.

Ocean Ecosystem Mostly salt water. 70% of earth’s surface. Home to thousands of plants and animals. 97% of earth’s water supply.
