Meditation or Self-Hypnosis for Stress Relief?
Meditation is continued or extended thought; reflection; contemplation. Essentially it is a form of self-hypnosis.
Hypnosis is an induced state that is characterized by heightened susceptibility to suggestion. So which method
should you use for stress relief?
Stress may result in many physical and emotional problems. It can cut off our creative and innate talents and
abilities and keep us from enjoying our lives. It can affect every aspect of our lives in a negative way if we allow it to.
Both Meditation and Hypnosis are wonderful tools to combat stress. In reality they go hand in hand and commiting to
learning both of these can lead us to the path of clarity and happiness.
I suggest you begin with Self-Hypnosis as this is more "guided" in nature. What hypnosis does, is to allow us to bypass
that part of the mind that hinders our abilities. Therefore once we bypass this part of our mind we can then introduce
powerful suggestions in to our subconscious mind. And guess what?.....It really works! But like any good skill you wish
to accomplish, you must practice it diligently.
Hypnosis brings us to a restful, meditative state where we become receptive to suggestions, ideas, and visions that
eventually allow us to truly change our own beliefs and thoughts about ourselves. This is the key to where the power of
hypnosis lies. This is truly empowering as our own beliefs or thoughts about ourselves are oftentimes the most hurtful
of all and cause us the most stress.
Truth is, the more self-hypnosis you do, the better you get at relaxation and meditation. It can calm your racing
thoughts into a relaxed state of clarity,and peace, where your body is at ease and mind healing can finally begin.

one, put your headphones on, and start listening right away. Find one with a hypnotist whom you find relaxing to listen
to. After listening to the session a couple of times you will learn to relax. Eventhough stress is inevitable throughout the
day, worry only about what you can control which is how you respond to that stress. So when you notice your stress
level starting to rise throughout the day, remember your hypnotist and what they said. Even if your stress abates just a
little bit, you know you've already begun to control your state of mind.
Once you've begun the basics of relaxation, then you are ready to start meditating. Again, there are many mp3
