learning of different film concepts

• We do not spend more than 8 weeks on
this practical production. Instead, more of
the course is dedicated to film analysis
6. How is the course designed?
• AS Year:
• FM1: Exploring Film Form (20%- Coursework)
One analysis of how the micro aspects of a chosen extract from
a film of candidate's choice produce meanings and responses
(1500 words)
+ One creative project (storyboard or screenplay) based on a
film sequence or short film
• FM2: British and American Film (30%- Exam)
Three questions, one from each section:
Section A: Response to stimulus material set by based on
producers and audiences of film
Section B: Topics in British Film
Section C: US Film - Comparative study of two films

• FM3: Film Research and Creative Projects (25%- Coursework)
A small-scale research project (essay) and a creative project
• FM4: Varieties of Film Experience: Issues and Debates (25%-
Exam)

Section A: World Cinema topics
Section B: Spectatorship topics
Section C: Single Film - Critical Study
