Mount Etna is an active volcano located on the east coast of Sicily, Italy. At over 3,300 meters tall, it is the tallest active volcano in Europe. Etna frequently erupts, both explosively and effusively, and while eruptions aren't consistently destructive, they can disrupt air travel and damage nearby villages with falls of ash and lava.
