4. EVERY COMPANY IS NOW A TECH COMPANY
THERE WAS A TIME WHEN THE PRIMARY ROLE OF LEADERS AT MOST COMPANIES WAS
MANAGEMENT. THE TECHNOLOGY REQUIRED TO DO THE WORK OF A COMPANY COULD BE
BOUGHT OR SILOED IN AN “IT DEPARTMENT,” TREATED MORE AS A COST CENTER THAN A
SOURCE OF COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE.
BUT NOW WE’VE ENTERED A PERIOD OF UPHEAVAL, DRIVEN BY CONNECTIVITY, ARTIFICIAL
INTELLIGENCE AND AUTOMATION. THE CHANGES AFFECT THE WORLD OF BUSINESS SO
PROFOUNDLY THAT EVERY COMPANY IS NOW A TECH COMPANY.

13. IT was loosing the authority over
the IT processes within the
company because of outdated
solutions and processes
CIO was at risk of loosing funding
because functions were building IT
solutions on their own instead of
relying on IT
Global initiatives (i.e. moving
applications to the cloud) were
blocked due to lack of capabilities
within IT to handle the process

14. OUR RESPONSE
• SoftServe delivered current state analysis of IT
department operations covering its organization,
platforms, toolset, processes, and services in place.
• We developed a transformation roadmap and proceed
with the implementation. It covers applications and
data processing platforms, adoption of new processes,
new change management and organizational model.
WHAT WE DID:
• Quick wins: for the first in the last decade whole
application portfolio was ready for the business
season
• Increased team performance because of lowered
efforts spent on infrastructure management.

15. TRANSFORMATION
15
• One single DevOps Center
of Excellence (CoE) across
the company that will be
responsible for defining the
strategy for DevOps as well
as playing the role of
Product Management for
all DevOps-related
solutions
• Practices and solutions are
unified across the
organization and functions
contribute to their
development
Organization
• Portfolio of tools to be
defined by IT and available
across organization so
function shall use it
• IT provides ready-to-use
data processing tools that
functions shall use and thus
functions shall spend less or
even no time on deploying
data analytics environment
Toolset
• Function define and present
their SLAs to IT
• NoOPS/Server-less
approach to be used by
small and mid-size project
teams
• Functions start using data
analytics as a service
• IT will build and manage
bridges between IT
Infrastructure Platform and
Azure/AWS/Google Cloud so
functions will rely on unified
platform instead of multiple
infrastructure providers
