Analyze Learner
Teaching Holiday traditions to 4th graders. There are 20 students 11 girls, and 9 boys. There are
2 Muslims, 3 Jewish and 2 African Americans.
State Objectives
My students describe the different holiday traditions of different cultures after doing research on
the culture of their choice with groups, they will make a creative Youtube video about their
holiday, telling other students about their culture’s holiday traditions, incorporating games and
songs that may be relevant to the holiday of certain cultures, and bringing in items that represent
certain holiday traditions by the end of 2 weeks with 90% accuracy.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials
Students will use PowerPoint and YouTube. I will provide materials for the games and items that
can be used during those holidays.
Utilize Media and Materials
Students will use PowerPoint to make a presentation to present to the class to tell them about the
holiday traditions of their culture. They will have access to video cameras to make a fun video
about their holiday. I will provide materials for the games pertaining to holiday traditions, as
well as items that can be used during those holidays.
Require Learner Participation
I will ask the class questions about what other students present to the class about their holiday
traditions, and well as reviewing with them throughout the weeks about the traditions of each
culture.
Evaluate and Revise
I will evaluate by making sure my classroom learns the information throughout the weeks by
reviewing with them constantly. I will ask questions about the holiday traditions discussed and
see which holidays they enjoyed learning about most, as well as asking each student to write a
paragraph about what they enjoyed most during the assignment, what is something new they
learned, and what was their favorite tradition to learn about besides their own.
