Overhead projectors were once commonly used presentation tools but have now been largely replaced by digital projectors and screens. They worked by projecting images onto a screen from a transparent sheet placed on a lit surface. While outdated, overhead projectors allowed for handwritten or printed materials to be easily viewed by audiences before PowerPoint and other presentation software became widespread.
