3. What is mental wellbeing
• Mental wellbeing is “feeling good”
• It is a combination of our emotional,
psychological and social wellness
• It affects how individuals see, act, think
and feel
• It affects how you make life choices,
interact with other people and handle
difficult situations, such as stress
• To keep up with your mental health, you
must take time to relax, socialize with
others, participate in things going on in
your community, get enough sleep,
challenge your brain, have a poisitve
attitude, and most importantly get help
if something is going wrong
4. Problems achieving mental wellbeing:
• Bad sleep schedules
• Being anti-social
• Low energy levels
• Having a bad attitude
• Not keeping in touch with family
• Use of drugs and/or alcohol
• Fighting with family or friends
• Mood swings/personality disorder
• Depressing thoughts
• Low self esteem/confidence
• A physical illness
• Abusive relationships/family
5. What is physical wellbeing
• Physical wellbeing is functioning
well
• It can be obtained through a
combination of exercise and
healthy eating habits
• Components include:
cardiovascular and muscular
strength and endurance, as well as
• These components can be obtained by
exercising different parts of your body,
eating and drinking right, putting in effort,
having a positive attitude, having regular
check ups at the doctor’s, obtaining
appropriate rest, stretching and getting
help if needed
6. Problems achieving physical wellbeing:
• Not enough free time
• Lack of motivation
• Dislike of fruits/vegetables
• Fear of injury
• Low energy levels
• Lack of resources/money
• Age
• Disability, sickness and/or disease
• Lack of knowledge
• Thinking exercise is boring

• Without mental wellbeing, you cannot be physically healthy
• Without physical wellbeing, you cannot be mentally healthy
• Your mind and body work together to obtain an optimal lifestyle

wellbeing
• Being generally more happy
• Physically looking good
• Gaining more energy
• Free of sickness
• You get involved in more activities
• Make more friends
• Are closer with your family
• More motivation
• Better outlook on life
10. There are many challenges to overcome
to achieve optimal mental and physical
wellness, but these challenges are well
worth the positive outcome at the end
