• Founded by Milton S. Hershey in 1894-it is a
subsidiary of his Company Lancaster Caramel
Company.

6. EARLY YEARS
• In 1886 he founded the Lancaster Caramel
Company.
• Hershey sold his Company for 1 million USD and
began to concentrate in chocolate
manufacturing.
• In 1899, he delevoped the “Hershey process”,
which is less sensitive to milk quality than
traditional methods.
• In 1900, he began manufacturing the Hershey’s
Milk Chocolate Bars.
7. HERSHEY’S IN PENNSYLVANIA
In 1903, he began the construction of a chocolate plant in his hometown,
Derry, Pennsylvania.
8. HERSHEY’S KISSES
• In 1907, the famous Hershey Kisses were introduced in the market.
• First they were individually wrapped by hand, then with the
technological advances the process was simplified.
• The Little ribbon with the Word “Kisses”, indicates that it is a genuine
Hershey product.
9. M&M’s
• Before the World War II, Bruce Morrie and Forrest Mars (creator of
Milki Way and Mars chocolate Candy bars), strucked a deal.
• In 1948, Mars bought out Murrie’s shares and became one of Hershey’s
main competitors.

• Since 2013, they still have the license but now it’s owned by Nestlé.

• Located in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
• Milton Hershey ensured that the school would live on by donating
30% of all future Hershey profits to the school.
• Now MHS has over 7 billion dollars in assets, making it one of the
richest schools in the world.
