About This Culture
One thing that this culture has in common with
other cultures is that the songs and dances all
have meanings.

Hawaii is located in the middle of the Pacific
Ocean.

The Hula is a dance that really means something
to the Hawaiians. It means that they believe in
their goddesses to keep their land and creator to
be safe.

An important thing about Hawaiian culture is
that they are a religious. Everything they do like
dances and songs, is believed that it was 100%
religious.
The Ha'a or the Hula is a very emotional
dance. The Hawaiians were very precise and
respective to the dance. The Hula or the Ha'a as it
was called before the 19th century, was kept a
sacred dance that only people that prayed to the
goddess would go to church and dance the Hula.
Many hours of the Hawaiians days would be in
church dancing the Hula. It would show their

goddess that they loved their land and their deities.
They believed that if anything was done wrong in
the dance that their history would change. It was

               The Hula is a very
                precise dance.
The Mele is the song that gives life to the Hula.
Every time they would dance the Hula, they would
have to dance to the Mele. The song has a meaning
just like the Hula has a few meanings. The Mele was
done in the honor of their Polynesian deities. Wile
the citizens were chanting the Mele, other citizens
were playing drums made out of shark skins,
gourds, and bamboo rattles. Every Mele tells a

             THE MELE
story about their life in Hawaii. Basically the Mele
gives life to the Hula and tells story's about their
land and goddesses. Music is important in this

-Bye Guys-
               This is my Conclusion

I learned that Hawaiians have a lot to learn about
and that they are very religious. They make their
history sound so very detailed and interesting. I
suggest that you should learn about this culture
more than I did. I recommend this culture.
Thank you!

Hope you learned
      lots!
