School Uniforms Introduction There is a type of thinking that is
the most widely preferred and
taught in schools. It is the disciplined tendency of being as skep
tical and substantial as possible
with every idea encountered in life (Elbow, 2012). In doubting c
onstructively, we discover unseen
contradictions, reasoning, or other weaknesses in ideas that see
m attractive. It is always cool to
scrutinize every case with the tool of a shadow of the doubt. Th
e opposition is not dispensable and
should always come to play. 5

opponents outline the line of danger (Kallet, 2014). The public
devotion to critical thinking shows
how our community values skepticism and doubting. The believi
ng game is like a mirror image of
the critical thinking. It is the practice of being welcoming to mo
st of the ideas we encounter. The
following is a clear illustration of the believing game on the top
ic of uniforms in schools.
6
SCHOOL UNIFORMS PREVENT CRIME AND INCREASE ST
UDENT SAFETY. One of
the primary reasons given by people about the importance of stu
dents being in uniforms is that
they are safe and not highly vulnerable to crimes. 7
36. SCHOOLS WITH UNIFORM POLICIES
HAVE THE FEWER FIREARM AND DRUG-RELATED INCID
ENTS THAN THOSE
WITHOUT UNIFORMS. Again, it is in schools without the cons
istent policy where high rates of
sexual violence, sexual attacks are witnessed. School uniforms
may prevent students from hiding
weapons or drugs under baggy clothing, thus, making it easier t
o supervise students on field trips
or outings, and make those who would intrude to the school con
spicuous. However, this view does
not go by the idea that uniforms restrict the students' 7
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. 1
CONSTITUTIONALLY, ALL INDIVIDUALS HAVE THE RIG
HT TO EXPRESS
THEMSELVES FREELY. A forced compliance to conventional
standards of appearance is not a
legitimate part of the educational process (Elbow, 2012). Clothi
ng choice is a form of self-
expression which should be respected by all.
Uniforms make students equal, reducing peer pressure effects.
7 ONCE ALL STUDENTS ARE
IN UNIFORM, UNNECESSARY CONTENTION AMONG STU
DENTS OVER CLOTHING
37. CHOICES AND THE MOCKING TO THOSE DRESSED IN LE
SS EXPENSIVE OR LESS
FASHIONABLE CLOTHES CAN BE ELIMINATED SUCCESS
FULLY. 8 SCHOOL
UNIFORMS GIVE STUDENTS A SENSE OF BELONGING AN
D THE FEELING OF
BEING SOCIALLY ACCEPTED AS STUDENTS. 2
THIS VIEW CAN ALSO HAVE
CRITICS FROM THE BELIEF THAT SCHOOL UNIFORMS D
O NOT STOP BULLYING.
In fact, it may increase violent attacks among students. There is
no evidence provided in bullying
literature that shows a reduction in violence because of the intro
duction of school uniforms (Elbow,
2012). School uniforms may increase the number of assaults on
students because of the inferiority
complex by those in less fashioned clothes and then the mocker
y from those in more fashioned
clothes.

UNIFORMS ENCOURAGE SCHOOL PRIDE, UNITY, AND C
OMMUNITY SPIRIT
(ELBOW, 2012). It enhances the feeling of school pride. 7
SCHOOL STUDENTS IN
UNIFORM ARE TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE POSITIVE I
N THE PERCEPTION OF
BELONGING TO THEIR SCHOOL COMMUNITY THAN THEI
R COUNTERPARTS IN
THE STANDARD DRESS GROUP. Troubled students have the
feeling of support from the
community when dressing in school uniform. 9
SCHOOL UNIFORM GIVES THE
STUDENTS THE SENSE OF BELONGING. However, a critic v
iew of this perception can be:
7
SCHOOL UNIFORMS DO NOT IMPROVE CLASS ATTENDA
NCE, ACADEMIC
PREPAREDNESS OR THE EXAM RESULTS. This is one of the
adverse effects of uniform in
schools. Uniforms have side effects to the academic achievemen
t. They are not valid for elementary
students and do dot help in academic excellence.
39. Conclusion It is, therefore, important to learn how most people
deal with differences in opinion.
Some people like to argue and disagree in a friendly manner. Th
ey enjoy the disagreement and the
give-and-take, and they like constructive criticisms. Individuals
behaving like this have a good
intellectual sport for them. It is important always to try and mak
e the conflicting opinions more
fruitful play the believing game.
