Waste Hierarchy – it refers to the "3 Rs“ reduce, reuse and recycle, which
classify waste management strategies according to their desirability in terms
of waste minimization.
Polluter Pays Principle – it is a principle where the polluting party pays for
the impact caused to the environment.

National 3R Strategies:
The national 3R goal for waste management is to achieve higher levels
of waste reduction, reuse, and recycling and minimize waste disposal
on open dumps, rivers, flood plains and landfills by 2015.
Objectives of the National 3R Strategy:
• Address the key issues of waste management;
• Define the roles of various actors; and
• Guide the creation of enabling conditions for success.

Project Concept: Trace out of public health impact and
sustainable management of slaughtering wastes in Dhaka city.
Location: Dhaka
Proposed Ativities: Literature review, method finalization,
selection, partnership, baseline study, field survey, policy
analysis, advocacy activities, dissemination.
Financial Analysis: From the previous experience, the
estimated budget for implementing such project can be assumed
around 5,000,000 BDT (equivalent to) in one year.
