Title : MDM of The Modern Smart Grid (For BESCOM)
Environment : Hadoop, Apache Pig, Hive, OOZIE, SQOOP, UNIX, SQL Server

Project Description:
The Modern smart grid utility requirements demand a range of big data processing
methodologies. Simplistic data processing patterns like MapReduce,pig are sufficient to address
the complexity of the analytic and data processing requirements of the smart grid. Wide area
measurements (WAM),AMI systems, energy trading systems, customer care, billing, and IP-
enabled devices in customer homes and facilities,etc.The purpose of the project is to perform
the analysis on the Effectiveness and validity of controlsand to store terabytes of log
information generated by the source providers as part of the analysis and extract meaningful
information out of it. The solution is based on the open source Big Data software Hadoop. The
data will be stored in Hadoop file system and processed using Map Reduce jobs, which intern
includes getting the raw data, process the data to obtain controls and redesign/change history
information, extract various reports out of the controls history and Export the information for
further processing.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Worked on setting up pig, Hive and HBase on multiple nodes and developed using Pig,
and HBase, MapReduce.
• Developed MapReduce application using Hadoop,MapReduce,Pig programming.
• Involved in developing the Pig scripts.

The purpose of the project is to store information generated by the bank’s historical
data,extract meaning information out of it and based on the information predict the customer’s
category. The solution is based on the open source BigData s/w Hadoop .The data will be stored
in Hadoop file system and processed using Map/Reduce jobs for product and pricing
information.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Involved in developing the Pig and Hive scripts.
• Developed the Sqoop scripts inorder to make the interaction between Pig,Hive and
Oracle Database.
• Completely involved in the requirement analysis phase.
• Developed Pig and Hive Script to create a standard report for end user .
