AT OUR SCHOOL ...
• Robotics started at IES Jose Rodrigo Botet
• First robot built used one programmable Lego’s
NXT Intelligent Brick

• Since 2010 our school has participated at Desafio
robot challenge, a robotics challenge that takes
place in Valencia
• In 2015 more than 200 teams took participated

• Our school enrolled the 2-year ARCE program
which is a national program for schools to create
collaborative groups and is directly promoted by
the National Department of Education
• 10 new Lego’s NXT Intelligent Bricks were
purchased

• Purchase of a Raspberry Pi
• The Raspberry Pi is a tiny and affordable computer
that can be used to learn programming through
practical projects

• A door to new possibilities was opened
– A Raspberry Pi allowed the use of cameras, wifi and
more complex algorithms.
• How to connect a Raspberry Pi with a Lego’s
NXT Intelligent Brick?

HOW IT WORKS?
• The original concept of the Lego’s NXT Intelligent
Brick started to evolve to become what will be
known as
• «Bucefalo», the robot that conquests the world

• An innovation program was approved by
Conselleria de Educacion which came with State
funds
– New Raspberry Pi’s were purchased
– First BrickPi’s were purchased

• This year our school organized the 1st

• The Erasmus+ KA2 project approved the Robotics
Workshop

ROBOT EXHIBITION!
(FOR TEACHERS)
• We have a 4-lane circuit.
• 4 teachers from different countries will
participate at the same time
• Each teacher will control a robot
• Everyone MUST participate!

• The goal of this activity is to get to the finish line
before the others
• Classification to the next round
– The fastest two robots of each round
– The 2 fastest third robots of all rounds

HOW TO CONTROL THE ROBOT
• The robot is controlled with a Tablet
• Everyone will have a tablet to control their
robot
• We have developed a Graphical User Interface
(GUI) to control the movements
• Commands are sent to the robot via Wifi

  • 26. • We have a 4-lane circuit. • 4 teachers from different countries will participate at the same time • Each teacher will control a robot • Everyone MUST participate! EXHIBITION
  • 27. • The goal of this activity is to get to the finish line before the others • Classification to the next round – The fastest two robots of each round – The 2 fastest third robots of all rounds EXHIBITION
  • 29. HOW TO CONTROL THE ROBOT • The robot is controlled with a Tablet • Everyone will have a tablet to control their robot • We have developed a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to control the movements • Commands are sent to the robot via Wifi
