Solutions Design  For the Future Locking mechanism Adding groves on belt and disk to reduce slippage Spring assisted push/pull gear shifting mechanism The lateral motion of the discs will be used for shifting.  ISIS drive bottom bracket required strength Weight , size Variable spring designs Gears and locking mechanisms Commercially available alternatives to the standard    v-belt   Shifter control layout and design Compatibility with existing frames

Major Design Decisions Using the variable sheave CVT Minimal mechanical complexity compared to other designs. Lightweight in comparison to hydraulic systems.  Has been used successfully on snowmobiles, recreational vehicles and mopeds.  The design has been patented already. Why hasn’t it been built? Locking position mechanism  Prevent undesired drift in ratios and excessive slip. Utilizing spring force to move the drive disks Reduce the effort exerted by the rider.  The shift can be better regulated if a standardized force is used.
