The document discusses a presentation about using supply chain artificial intelligence (AI) and modern infrastructure to transform businesses. It covers how supply chain AI can optimize inventory levels by understanding demand patterns. The presentation agenda includes discussions on how AI improves integrated business planning, and how companies can leverage cloud infrastructure and hosting options like IBM i to support digital transformation. It promotes the services of Murano Corporation and LightEdge to help companies implement these solutions.

Power Cloud Platform Benefits
Platform Benefits Description
Application Modernization
Power Cloud gives customers a cloud based test/dev environment on demand.
LightEdge supports multiple IBM i operating systems, so customers gain OS access
they’d usually not have.
Platform Upgrades
Power Cloud provides offsite, isolated LPAR’s allowing customers to perform 'safe'
upgrades, meaning no risk of disruption to production services.
Production Platform Improvements
Power Cloud offers customer access to system and platform improvements that would
be very expensive to replicate.
Stranded Operating Systems
IBM i customers are familiar with the operating system dead ends that exist: 5.4 is still
highly used, but is past end of life. Customers are finding it difficult, risky and
expensive to migrate to most current OS versions. Additionally, customers on version
7.1 are stranded unless they are willing to invest in a hardware refresh.
Disaster Recovery
The IBM i platform has made Disaster Recovery a challenge. Replicating hardware,
operating systems, and software licenses is expensive and hard to justify, but no having
a DR option leaves iSeries production environments vulnerable.

Meeting IBM I Customer Challenges
•Business Realization: It's becoming more and more expensive to stay current on
iSeries. Purchasing more hardware, software, and licenses is not the answer.
Issue Encountered:
Cost Containment
• Business Realization: Business is growing, either organically or via
acquisitions, at a pace that's beyond the scalability of iSeries.
Issue Encountered:
Growth and Scale
• Business Realization: A substantial or critical part of the business runs on
iSeries, but you don’t have a validated business resilience and recovery
plan.
Issue Encountered:
Business Continuity
•Business Realization: iSeries customers are finding they need a robust DR plan over
purely doing backup. Usually this realization can be attributed to increasing
compliance regulations or performing cost of downtime calculations.
Issue Encountered:
Backup vs. Disaster Recovery
•Business Realization: Skilled iSeries administrators are hard to find. Those on-staff are
beginning to retire, leaving companies with no iSeries admin or operator experience.
