This document provides an overview of an English language course for 5th grade students called "Animal Encounters". The 4-week course covers topics like grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing, speaking, listening, and research. Students will read stories about people working with wild animals, watch a documentary on gorillas, and research an endangered animal. Evaluation will include weekly assessments of grammar, reading, writing, and content, as well as two cumulative evaluations. Students' previous knowledge in science, English, and technology will support the course.
2. Animal encounters The girls read different stories about people who have worked in several activities involving wild animals.as a warming up activity we watch the movie “Gorillas in the mist” to create conscience of what is happening with these animals. Finally each girl is given a wild animal to research why it is endangered,theirhabitat,behavior,diet,familylife,and what people are doinbg to help them.
