Matthew Lockwood transferred to the University of Colorado at Boulder for his junior year in 1998. During Matt’s studies at CU Boulder, he took extensive coursework in both biology and computer science. Matt graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2001, and he made the Dean’s List.
2. Matt Lockwood is a serial entrepreneur and investor with a background in
digital marketing. Since 2004, he founded and successfully built multiple
startups in the online retail space, led a turnaround of a failing online retail
company, and has successfully invested in alternative assets. Through his
private investment company, Resilient Capital, he discovered and researched
investment opportunities which have returned an annualized performance of
approximately 15% since inception in 2010. His investment focus has been in
real estate, hard money loans, fix and flips, farmland, and medical liens.
3. During childhood, Matt Lockwood was an active member of the Boy Scouts
(Troop 91 Prairie Village, Kansas) and obtained his Eagle Scout. Matt’s Eagle
Scout Project focused on rehabilitating an economically depressed home in
Kansas City, Missouri. The home's energy bills were bankrupting its occupant,
and Matt did the hard work of rehabilitating windows and other conditions to
make the home more energy efficient, and most importantly, affordable to heat
in winter. Also during childhood, Matt was an active member of Country Club
Christian Church in Kansas City Missouri. Through the Church, Matt was
active in volunteering for Habitat for Humanity – participating in multiple
mission trips to rehabilitate homes for the poor in the Kansas and Missouri
areas, as well as in Texas. Also through the youth group, Matt went on several
mission trips in Los Angeles to volunteer in soup kitchens.
4. During high school at Shawnee Mission East, Matt was a varsity tennis player
and an honor roll student. Matt Lockwood Denver graduated in 1996.
Following high school, Matt attended the University of Puget Sound and he
held a position in the student government. After Matt’s freshman year of
college, he volunteered as an instructor at the Wilderness Treatment Center in
Marion, Montana for the summer. The Wilderness Treatment Center is a 60
day, in-patient chemical dependency addiction treatment facility for
teens/young men between the ages o0f 14 and 24.

Matthew Lockwood Denver’s first job after college was with VioSoftware.com.
One of Matt’s first research projects was analyzing a new website, Google, for
potential marketing opportunities. Matt thrived at VioSoftware.com, where through
various marketing strategies, he was given recognition for strongly contributing to
doubling the annual company revenue from about $10 million to $20 million
during the course of his employment.
6. In February 2004, Matthew Lockwood Colorado was recruited by
DirectDeals.com, to become the E-commerce Marketing Director. Matt was
part of a team that orchestrated a highly successful turnaround of
DirectDeals.com, which was losing money every month, to profitability. This
was accomplished by a redesign of the company’s website and implementing
analytics software, Web Trends, among other innovations. In January 2005,
Matt co-founded RoyalDiscount.com. Matt Lockwood Denver was the E-
commerce Marketing Director, and was instrumental in driving traffic to Royal
Discount's site. At Royal, he identified, developed, and executed numerous
successful marketing campaigns such as Bizrate.com, Pricewatch.com, Yahoo
Shopping, Nextag.com, Pricegrabber.com, Cnet.com, Shopping.com and
Froogle.com (later Google Shopping).
7. Matt Lockwood Colorado also focused his efforts on organic search
optimization techniques, and Royal quickly surpassed many of its competitors
in the marketplace. Royal received industry recognition in 2006 when it was
ranked #348 by Internet Retailer magazine's Top 500 Internet Retailers. Royal
went on to achieve $19,590,206 in revenue in 2007, had 130,000 site visits per
month, and was valued at $4.9 million by Hein & Associates LLP. Matthew
Lockwood Denver left Royal in 2010 after he received a buyout of his shares,
and founded Resilient Capital. In addition to managing his investments for
Resilient Capital, Matt Lockwood has served as a Digital Marketing
Consultant at FiveFifty, a Digital Marketing Agency located in Denver, CO.
At FiveFifty, Matt focused on SEO and paid search, with a particular emphasis
on keyword research.
8. Currently, Matt Lockwood spends his time serving as a consultant for
underperforming Digital Marketing campaigns, conducting due diligence for
numerous business acquisitions and doing market research for a real estate
investment company in the self-storage industry. Matt Lockwood is a member
of Entrepreneurs Organization, a non-profit organization of business owners
that is affiliated with the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Matt has been
a member for over 7 years. Since 2005, Matthew Lockwood Colorado has
been a longtime contributor to various charities. These charities include
Outreach Alaska, Service League of San Mateo, Tennyson Center for Children,
The Dumb Friends League, and the Boys and Girls Club.
