With more than a decade of experience as an educator, Maureen Simao serves as a sixth grade science teacher at Ponaganset Middle School in North Scituate, Rhode Island. Responsible for curriculum implementation, she has completed Rhode Island Teachers and Technology Initiative coursework on employing technology in an academic setting. Toward the end of doing so, Maureen Simao has introduced seven computers into her classroom for accessing educational websites and enhancing learning. Maureen Simao earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Counseling and Family Studies at the University of Rhode Island. From 1990 to 1996, she taught students with special needs.
