Teaching Methodology at Mayapur Institute
At MI, we employ Vaishnava Training and Education method of teaching. Unique feature
of this method is that it stresses on the application of sastric theories

At MI, the thrust of education is on developing character and philosophical realization
Aims-driven approach to studying sastra
 At Mayapur Institute we employ aims-driven (as opposed to content-driven) approach to studying sastra
developed by VTE., Each courses are based on a set of Aims and Objectives and proper Assessment
methods to measure the learning.
 The courses at MI have a number of distinguishing features, based on sound and explicit educational
principles and a well-articulated methodology.
 It thus goes beyond memorisation and intellectual understanding, to explicitly promote students’
application of knowledge, their development of appropriate values, and, ultimately, personal realisation.
 In ‘content-driven’ approach, teachers remain more concerned about what is taught rather than why
they are teaching in the first place. It is essential to have clearly focused aims without which we will
undoubtedly run into difficulties, such as leaning excessively towards knowledge-transmission. This will
result in the marginalisation of skills and values as observed in material education.

The courses will have breaks in between with Navadvipa-dhama Parikrama. With this enriching experience not only will you get transcendental breaks and deep satisfaction of your
heart, but you will also enter more deeply into your relationship with Navadvipa-dhama and with the Vaisnavas who are revealing the dhama.

  • 1. Teaching Methodology at Mayapur Institute At MI, we employ Vaishnava Training and Education method of teaching. Unique feature of this method is that it stresses on the application of sastric theories

Sravana Manana Nidhidhyasana Hearing knowledge from the teacher Gaining an intellectual understanding by reflecting on what is learned Realisation and application in one's life Knowledge Skills Values what the student will know what the student will be able to do How the student will be All learning falls within these three categories

Seven purposes of ISKCON – Purpose No. -1 To systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to society at large and to educate all peoples in the techniques of spiritual life in order to check the imbalance of values in life and to achieve real unity and peace in the world. To facilitate a systematic, Krishna-conscious education, Mayapur Institute employs an aims-driven (as opposed to content-driven) approach to studying sastra developed by VTE.

Aims-driven approach to studying sastra  At Mayapur Institute we employ aims-driven (as opposed to content-driven) approach to studying sastra developed by VTE., Each courses are based on a set of Aims and Objectives and proper Assessment methods to measure the learning.  The courses at MI have a number of distinguishing features, based on sound and explicit educational principles and a well-articulated methodology.  It thus goes beyond memorisation and intellectual understanding, to explicitly promote students’ application of knowledge, their development of appropriate values, and, ultimately, personal realisation.  In ‘content-driven’ approach, teachers remain more concerned about what is taught rather than why they are teaching in the first place. It is essential to have clearly focused aims without which we will undoubtedly run into difficulties, such as leaning excessively towards knowledge-transmission. This will result in the marginalisation of skills and values as observed in material education.
