Performing Arts
Each year Divine Performing Arts travels the world, performing on
tour across Europe, North America, Oceania, and Asia. One of the
highlights of the 2009 World Tour was The Divine Performing Arts:
Chinese Spectacular at the legendary John F. Kennedy Center
for the Performing Arts. In mid-February, the show played to sold
out crowds at the Kennedy Center Opera House and touched the
hearts of thousands.

I n a town as diverse as Washington, DC, the audience ranged
from school children to high-level government officials and
included people of all ethnic backgrounds. One senior fellow at
a think tank saw the show over Valentine’s Day weekend with his
family. He said the show had a depth that was unexpected. “I
cried a few times—it was just quite wonderful,” he said. “What I
saw was power, honesty, and integrity in addition to artistry, and I
am very grateful for that. It was a wonderful afternoon.”
Divine Performing Arts brings together leading dancers,
choreographers, vocalists, and musicians from around the world.
Each year, DPA premieres an entirely new program of dances,
songs, and musical scores. Its works are unique in being not
only visually beautiful and entertaining, but also educational,
enriching, and uplifting.
“Spectacular! With gorgeous multi-colored
costumes, athletic dancers, lovely traditional
Chinese music, and fantastic singers.”

The company seeks to breathe new life into traditional
Chinese culture while providing audiences everywhere with an
experience of sublime beauty.
Divine Performing Arts came into being in 2006 with a vision
of cultural renewal. It was then that leading Chinese artists and
several small performance companies joined together to revive
an artistic tradition.
Today, Divine Performing Arts is proud to consist of three
dance companies, two orchestras, and a host of choreographers,
composers, costume designers, backdrop artists, and artistic
staff. Its shows have graced many of the world’s greatest stages,
including New York’s Radio City Music Hall, London’s Royal
Festival Hall, and, of course, Washington, DC’s Kennedy Center.
More than just being accomplished artists, members of Divine
Performing Arts take to heart an ancient Chinese belief that
to create true art, there must first be inner beauty. Many draw
inspiration from traditional Chinese culture and practices, such
as the self-cultivation discipline of Falun Dafa, and naturally bring
a calm expressiveness and depth to their work. Counted among
the company’s artists are winners of top international competi-
tions in dance and music, as well as accomplished choreogra-
phers and composers.
