Whether you are new to the training field or you have just taken on training a new group of people, we hope these cards are a tool that will help you think, learn, laugh, and be inspired.   4. 4. ...Well you should be! Knowing the ins and outs of this process can make the difference when deadlines are tight. Who are the key people on your medical, legal, and regulatory committee?   5. 5. Get all your ducks in a row! Before you Jump into the pond, Gathering the proper information can be the difference between sinking or swimming.   6. 6. know your audience before you take the stage. During your interview process, you likely learned about the main audience for which you are responsible for training. However, are there any other roles for which you are responsible (eg, reps, medical science liaisons, specialty reps, managers, execs)? Do you need to develop for the U.S. or Global or both?   7. 7. EARLY STAGE DEVELOPMENT CAN BE THE Difference between A GREAT LAUNCH or a crash and burn! Is there an upcoming launch you need to prepare for? Even if the launch is a year away, you need to get started as soon as possible. Preparing materials and getting them through legal, medical, and regulatory review can take time, so it is best to start early and ensure the best possible materials. 3,2,1 Blast off!   8. 8. Your Materials could be at risk. Are any existing materials going into quarantine? Most life science companies will only approve training materials for a limited time and eventually the materials go into quarantine. These materials need to be removed from the field and replaced with updated, current materials. Learning The Ropes
  9. 9. New Hires? Be prepared. Are there any new hires starting? If yes, when? You will need to make sure all of the materials are up-to-date and available for when they come on board. Learning The Ropes
  10. 10. Do you have the right tools? you should Know what is Available. Where are the training materials stored and how are they deployed? Does your company use a learning management system (LMS)? Are assessments given to learners through testing software? Does your company have virtual classroom training software or virtual meeting software you can use?   13. 13. Know the technology Level. Learn about your audience. What hardware and software do they have? Do they have iPads® ? What feedback have they voiced about past programs or workshops? All of these things will guide you in what you can and should offer them in the future. If the information is scarce, consider surveying your audience or holding a focus group. Learning The Ropes

Relaxation techniques are a great way to help with stress management. Relaxation isn’t just about peace of mind, it is a process that decreases the effects of stress on your mind and body.   16. 16. Assessment engine An assessment engine is a software system that companies use to administer and track assessments or tests. Most life science companies have an assessment engine. The most common assessment engines used by life science companies are Pedagogue and QuestionMark. Sorry...different kind of engine.   17. 17. Cognitive overload Cognitive overload occurs when a learner is asked to juggle too many pieces in their mind simultaneously. The term is often applied to eLearning because a learner may be hearing words and seeing text and graphics.
