A Critique of the Proposed National Education Policy Reform
Evaluation 6
1.
2. In pre-production we planned to use a small
DV camera but as we began to discuss the
shots we wanted to use in our film like a pull
focus shot we decided that using a HDV 1080i
mini DV Sony camera would be better as it
would help us achieve our shots and at a
better quality.
This is one of the pull
focus shots we
wanted to use with
the bigger camera.
The focus changes
from the leaves and
arm to the focus on
Daisy walking.
3. When we first used this camera we filmed our
flashback scene on Wednesday 27th February.
Throughout the filming process after a shot we
would rewind and watch it to make sure it was
good but as it was our first time using this type
of camera when fast forwarding to carry on
recording we unknowingly recorded over bits
we had shot so when we went to put it on the
computer we had bits of the shots so we had to
use it all over again
The following week went a lot better, we knew
how to use the camera more and we were
able to shoot in a shorter length of time.
4. Before we started any planning or writing we
had to set up a Google account and
blogger. This was the first time any member of
our group had used blogger so we had to get
use to it. We used blogger throughout the
process to post all of our research like Thriller
genre and similar films. We uploaded things
like our script and storyboard. We posted all
our work on this blog to help us remember
what we had done and to also allow other
members of the group to see what needs to
still be done.
5. We used Final Cut Express to edit our film
together, we learnt how to add different
shots together with continuity, how to add
music and change the volume of sound.
We also learnt to add title sequences and
how to incorporate our titles into the
background of our shots. When finished we
made it into a QuickTime Movie file
enabling us to upload it to YouTube which
was free.
6. Used our HDV cameras, giving us better quality.
We were able to use our tripod correctly and easily which
gave us level shots.
Used Google questionnaires in post production to get
feedback on our initial idea of the film and also in post
production when the film was finished to get feedback of the
final product.
Cameras were tricky at first and quite heavy when carrying
them from each location.
Finding royalty free music without paying took a long time and
a lot of perseverance as the internet was particularly slow on
the computer we were using but we needed royalty free
music to allow us to use it in our film so we had to spend a lot
of time looking.
