21. Andrew Furseth(seaman & labor activist) brought the Steamship Sailors Union in 1891; Resulted with Pres. Wilson to sign the Seamans Act intended to remove forced servitude.
26. 1912- strike in San Diego: many killed, beaten, & injured.
27. Criminal Sidicalism Act declared it a felony punishable to 1-14 yrs in prison to advocate violence in means of accomplishing a change in industrial ownership or control. This was directed against the IWW and lasted till 1968 when declared unconstitutional.
