Why did Arduino start? [2]
The reasons because it started:
 A team of teachers wants to make a tool for their
  students
 This tool must be cheaper than previous devices for
  doing this
 They want open source project, that way people that
  want to can help and contribute
The beginning of Arduino                   [2]


 In “Interaction Design Institute ” on Italy in 2005
 One group of people met and thought about it
 One of the founders of Processing taught there
 Processing on Hardware becomes “Wiring”
 Cheaper and easier than “Wiring”, becomes Arduino
How it works            [3]


 Device that can interact with the real world
 Hardware
   Microcontroller (Reduced Instruction Set Computer)
   Devices Input/Output


 Software
   Processing language (also others like Matlab, SC, Java, etc.)
   Bootloader

Project I: Photoduino
 Camera controller based on Arduino
 It works using Arduino’s inputs and it receives the signals
  of the real world

 On general aspects 3D printers can make your ideas in a
  three-dimensional way

 It uses the additive process

 Examples: MakerBot, RepRap

Project III: Pet Feeder
 Pet Feeder that opens only for a special cat
 The cat has a collar with a chip
 The device that allows the cat to eat has a sensor that
  can recognize it

  boards because you can sew it on your clothes
 You can make lights, music or anything you imagine
